West End Baptist Church

The Music Ministry at West End Baptist Church offers a wide variety of musical opportunities from choir and orchestra to ensembles, trios and solos. Join us as we seek to glorify God through the celebration of worship. Music and worship go hand in hand at West End and is dynamic, joyous, energetic and EXCITING! Various events throughout the year including Christmas and Easter as well as other musicals, concerts and drama help heighten expressions of our love for God. Active involvement in the ministry of music provides participants with the opportunity to serve the church with their talents, develop musical skills, and achieve higher ideals of spiritual awareness. West End proudly presents Celebration Choir, the backbone of our adult music program. The choir sings for each Sunday morning service as well as seasonal presentations at Christmas and Easter. CD/DVD copies of all morning worship services and special events are available upon request. Choir rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 7:30pm --9:00 pm. New members are always welcome!

Minister of Music, Jim Browder, conducts the Celebration Orchestra. These instrumentalists not only play for Sunday services, but also perform in our Easter, Christmas and other programs throughout the year. The Celebration Orchestra rehearses every Wednesday from 6:15pm—7:15pm. We are always looking for additional players in all sections, even if you haven't played in a while.

These teams are made up of individuals from within the Celebration Choir. We have several ensemble teams that rotate each week in leading worship for the Sunday morning service. These singers help the congregation learn new choruses and offer encouragement for others to become actively involved in singing as a part of worship.

Our contemporary service, The Journey, has a praise ensemble led by Scott Carroll. This band is comprised of acoustic guitars, electric guitars, keyboard and drums of which provides a contemporary mix of music each week. Rehearsals for this group of musicians are held on Wednesday nights from 7:00-9:00 pm and again on Sunday mornings at 8:00 am just prior to the service at 9:30 am.

Kids Praise is a graded choir program for children age 3 through 6th grade. It is our goal to help prepare the children for worship in our church. Preschool choirs emphasize music by moving to the beat, singing games and playing instruments. Elementary age choirs enjoy musicals, leading in worship, fellowship with friends, and growing spiritually and musically. All of the childrens’ choirs will see and hear from the Bible, and memorize scripture in song and speech. By supplying age appropriate, fun activities, we hope to help the Kids at WEBC prepare for a lifetime of meaningful worship
